Interact with the walls

The environment speaks.

She communicates with us all the time, even without us noticing.

When it comes to the children’s environment, the things she expresses are expressed in a very significant way, because the child is in a state where he absorbs everything (everything). Therefore, it is so important to understand how to communicate through the environment and what we want it to say to it.

The impact on the child’s development through the design of the environment he lives in is expressed in different ways – from the furniture we choose to put in the space, from the colors, the amount of lighting, accessories and how they are organized in the space… all of these have an impact.

But there is another thing that has a great influence on the child’s development, of great importance, that we don’t often pay attention to – these are the walls.

The walls are the greatest resource in our environment. They are the most dominant surface in space, which surprisingly we don’t pay enough attention to. The walls have the ability to contain a lot – from shelves, pictures, wall stickers and more… but beyond all these they can be much more than a surface that allows a picture or a shelf to rest on. If we use them correctly, they can be a playful and developmental element. And we can achieve this if we allow children to interact with them.

There are so many advantages to creating an interaction of the child with the walls that surround him:

– Creating a special experience, different from what is usual

– Standing activity that strengthens the shoulder girdle and encourages the child to move

– A free game that awakens the imagination

– Does not take up space

– Teaches while playing

– Develops fine and gross motor skills

During the years of my professional life, I learned the importance and significance of the environment on the growth and development of the child. In particular, I focused on the role of the walls in this equation.

This understanding of the tremendous, unrealized potential that walls have led me to develop a product that is worn on the walls and turns them into an interactive, experiential element that the child can act with, and thus actually play with the walls, while standing, moving and having fun.

So how do you enable interaction with the walls?

I have attached some ideas 😊
